Dr. Finney is a research assistant professor at the University of Tennessee and on the development staff at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
After graduating from Maryville High School in 1987, he received his B.A. in astronomy-physics (minor in American government) in 1991 from the University of Virginia, and B.S.M.E. in 1993, M.S. in 1995 and Ph.D. in 2000, with majors in mechanical engineering, from the University of Tennessee. He has worked with the Chaos Research Group since 1992 on various projects. Charles presently serves as the administrator of the WWW site for the CRG and is mostly responsible for the content of these Web pages. He maintains the Web site for the Central States Section of The Combustion Institute and serves on the section board of advisors. He is a member of Tau Beta Pi, The Combustion Institute, and was certified as an Engineer-in-Training in the State of Tennessee in 1992.
