J. Roger Parsons

Dr. Parsons is Professor of Mechanical Engineering and is the director of the Engage Program for freshman engineering fundamentals.

He received his B.S. in 1969 from the University of Illinois, M.S. in 1972 from Carnegie Mellon University, and Ph.D. in 1978 from North Carolina State University, all with majors in mechanical engineering. He joined the faculty at UTK in 1979, being promoted to Associate Professor in 1983 and elected as Professor in 1988. He has supervised 13 graduate students.
