From 1995 to 1997, Matt Kennel was at ORNL and UTK under the Department of Energy's Distinguished Postdoctoral Fellowship Program. He received his A.B. in 1989 from Princeton University, M.S. in 1991 and Ph.D. in 1995 from the University of California, San Diego, all with majors in physics. He was a research assistant at UCSD at the Institute for Nonlinear Science, working under Prof. Henry Abarbanel on the development of theory and algorithms for the analysis of observed chaotic data. In 1997 January, he returned to INLS.
